Abstract

A depression, open at one side and with an open slot at the bottom, is made in the machine door. The latch is in two parts: one part has a staple which passes through the slot in the depression, the other a tongue which passes through the open side of the depression and into the staple: the two parts clip together, retaining the tongue in the staple, and the latch on the machine door. The rear part of the latch contains the bolt spring (pref. a leaf spring). The two parts of the latch (between which lies the part with the bolt) are pref. each made in a single piece of plastic.
