Abstract

The switch disconnection arc is extended by a compressed gas blow-out mechanism. The arc runs onto extension conductors, and several insulating nozzles for further arc. extension are provided, the arc being broken up into several fragments. At least one arc catcher (32, 32', 34) is connected to a terminal for connection to a voltage building up device (3), and/or to a device (4) for overvoltage limiting. Switch terminals (26, 37, 17) can also serve for connection of the devices (3, 4).
