Abstract

The multi-storey car park consists of a building (2) with parking bays stacked one above the other, the car being raised to the required level by a lifting platform (1) which is held in equilibrium by a cable (3) carrying a counter-weight (4). The plaform can be inclined towards the parking bays about an horizontal axis (6), by a system of levers (7). The car is parked on a wheeled trolley (9) so that inclination of the platform causes the trolley to roll into the parking bay. The floor (11) of each parking bay is also pivoted about an horizontalaxis (12) and can be inclined by a system of levers (14) causing the trolley to roll onto the platform. A retractable edge (15) prevents the accidental tipping out of a car.
