Abstract

The appliance is for the atomization of combustible powder in an oxygen containing gaseous carrier, e.g. atmospheric air or similar. It is esp. for the electrostatic coating in a powder paint plant. The powder is supplied highly concentrated, and is mixed with the carrier, to create an ignition phase. The appliance is surrounded by a Faraday cage (18) enclosing the spatial extension of the ignition phase. It has a powder spray disc the same size as the largest dimension of the cage. The radius of the disc is larger than the largest radial extension of the phase, and the cage is positioned on the radius of the disc (17) outside the critical radius.
