Abstract

L'invention concerne un réacteur nucléaire à neutrons rapides, comportant un coeur et un dispositif pour faire circuler un caloporteur liquide à travers ledit coeur, ce dernier possédant une pluralité d'assemblages combustibles orientés verticalement portant du matériau nucléaire fissionnable, un certain nombre d'assemblages de couverture orientés verticalement portant du matériau nucléaire fertile, et un certain nombre d'assemblages de bouclier radial, amovibles disposés radialement autour de ces assemblages de couverture. Chacun de ces assemblages de bouclier consiste en un tube d'enceinte, métallique à mince paroi polygonal et en un faisceau de barres cylindriques pleines disposées parallèlement dans le sens vertical, ces barres étant etroitement groupées dans ce tube d'enceinte et le remplissant pratiquement
