Abstract

The optical temp. measuring and controlling system cuts off the heat supply over an adjustable delay element in the heating-up phase, when a first temp. has been reached. In the following control phase, the burners are cut out for a duration either from the renewed reaching of a set temp. or from the moment of their cut-in. This ensures that the core and the surface of the furnace charge have as uniform a temp. as possible. Optical instruments do not have the slow response inherent in thermocouples.
