Abstract

The windscreen (G) or rear window of an automobile is secured in the frame (F) by plastic clips (11). The plastic clips (11) have a flat rear face (21) which is fixed with adhesive to the side of the recess in the bodywork. An adhesive layer (P) is applied to the base of the recess and the windscreen (G) pressed into position. The windscreen (G) is held by the claws (19) at the ends of the spring fingers (14). A metal profile or plastic moulding (M) is then pressed into place with the hooked edge of the moulding springing into the gap between the tongue (15) and the tapered lugs (20) of the plastic clip (11).
