Abstract
The engine has a cylindrical casing (1). Inside this there is a rotor (2) which fits closely to the casing and has a series of recesses (3) forming pockets round it. Each of these is filled with water. There is an electrically driven laser emitter (4) in one section of the casing. The beam of coherent light emitted by it produce shock waves in the rotor pocket immediately under the emitter. These waves exert a circumferential force on the end of the pocket and cause the rotor to revolve. The revolution brings the next pocket under the emitter and the process is repeated. The engine thus produces rotary motion without the use of combustible fuel.
