Abstract

The energy producing unit using tidal current has at least one bucket chain water-power machine with several buckets mounted on two endless, parallel chains extending in the direction of flow. The power unit is anchored to the sea bed and fully immersed. The anchor engages with the front end of the frame which incorporates the guide wheels for the chain. The frame is made in part of tubes (3) which form buoyancy bodies for the power plant. The tubes have chambers (3a, 3b) which are flooded in order to sink the plant. The tubular frames of the buckets are attached to the chains by tension cables.
