Abstract

The cam-producing machine has an oscillating cradle support which is controlled by a sensor following a rotating template. The template and the workpiece are mounted on a shaft which is mounted on the cradle. A jack oscillates the cradle in response to sensor movements. The machine includes two servo-loops which compensate for the transverse acceleration of the cradle and variations in shaft speed. The two servo-loops act in combination to modify the drive motor speed in response to an error signal. The primary loop includes an error determining comparator, a generator delivering a current related to the error, and a tachometric generator associated with the motor.
