Abstract

The device described enables the vetor B of the electromagnetic field to be measured and is not affected by the vector E. The electrical circuits are enclosed in a conducting metallic cage, known as a Faraday cage, and this screen stem from the action of the vector E. The B vector is measured using a ferrite rod (1) which comes out of the Faraday Cage. The cage comprises two parts; the mobile part carrying the ferrite rod, while the fixed part contains the measurement apparatus. The two parts are electrically connected. The B vector induces electron spin vibration in the ferrite (1) and these vibrations propagate in the rod to the inside of the cage where they are detected by an LC oscillatory circuit (2, 3) tuned to the vibrational frequency of the B vector. Part of the inductance, L, (2) surrounds the ferrite rod inside the cage.
