Abstract

A felt tipped or similar pen is modified to enable fine lines to be drawn without fatigue. The cartridge is made shorter than the space inside the pen casing so that it can be retracted inside, under its own weight, for a short distance. The sloping tip of the casing is cut away in one side only, then by allowing the writing point to fall to its own level, the lower edge of the tip of the casing can be allowed to rest on the paper while drawing fine lines. To draw heavy lines, the casing is reversed and the top of the cartridge rests against the inside of the cap (S) allowing greater pressure to be used.
