Abstract

The joint is made from a cast steel or cast iron hemispherical element (C). Each is fitted with an internal rib which is in the form of a truncated cone ending with a central circular plate (g) on the radius of the sphere. The central plate has a central bolt hole which allows two joints to be bolted together to form a complete sphere. The sphere has a number of holes (e) on its surface to take steel tubes (a) and (b) which form part of the tubular structure. A variety of patterns may be made up from the structure.
