Abstract

The press stud is for use on crash helmets and has a circular base (322) which is fixed by a securing crown (314) joined to the wall of the helmet. The securing crown is weakened so that it will open under the effect of an accidental impact and free the press stud. The crown is fixed on the circular base by turning down claws (316) round the periphery of the base. Alternatively it may be fixed by turning down a peripheral edge of slightly thinner metal than that of the other parts.
