Abstract
The road traffic control system has a central control (1) processing traffic flow information and obtaining control procedures. The central control is connected in series with an information assigning unit (2), which is connected to a further circuit (3) e.g. associated with vehicle traffic control lights (6). The latter circuit (3) is also associated with road speed detectors (4) and traffic intensity detectors (5). Further traffic intensity detectors (7) are associated with the traffic control lights. A traffic intensity detector is positioned at each road juction within a control area. It may supply to the central control information relating to the traffic flow for each approach road to the intersection.
