Abstract
A circuit is used to provide protection for electronic equipment in general. It is supplied with current from a DC power source. Protection is offered against accidental earthing of one of the DC lines and the system is protected against the introduction of excessively high supply voltages. The circuit is based on the use of a Wheatstone bridge connected to earth via a high resistance element, the bridge circulating current providing warning of supply malfunction. The bridge output is fed to an amplifier such that when an adjustable threshold is exceeded a protection relay is energised. Both a milli ammeter and voltmeter are included in the system to provide visual level monitoring.
