Abstract

The crane has a telescopic jib and a travelling crab, the jib foot and head sections being of different sizes and each having a crab travel track. The forward end of the foot section (2) is extended by an inclined ramp (9), and there are rollers (10a-b, 11a-b) on the crab engaging permanently with the foot section, the ramp, or the head section. The rollers extend for different widths at right angles to the jib axis, or are mounted at different intervals. They can be situated on the crab in the same plane or two different ones. The rollers can be in a number of sets at different intervals to suit the tracks on the jib sections, remaining in permanent contact with the tracks when passing from one section to the next.
