Abstract

The branching arrangement comprises two coupling pieces (13, 14) for accommodating the transmitting optical fibres (11). Connecting fibres (12) and branch fibres leading to two bushes (A B) are arranged between the coupling pieces (13, 14). During installation, the coupling pieces (13, 14) are collapsed by heating over the inserted fibre ends, thereby rendering it possible for the branching arrangement and optical fibre (11) to be connected securely and in a manner easy to conduct in the field.
