Abstract

A viscometer is used which has coaxial cylinders and a mobile rotor. A device rotates around the stator/rotor (3, 4) unit and an output signal is produced when the rotor and the rotating device have a given relative angular position. The signal is produced by a photoelectric detector (27) carried by the rotating device, which also carries a light source (30). The signal is produced when the light ray from the source (30) reaches the photoelectric detector (27) after hitting a mark inscribed on the periphery of the rotor. The rotating device has a constant velocity which is greater than that of the rotor.
