Abstract

Process for the prodn. of artificial flowers, twigs, branches, bark, and other vegetable elements to be used for ornamental or decorative purposes is carried out by using woven or knitted fabrics which are (partially) transformed by physical and/or chemical means. Transformation may be obtd. by heat, solvents, chemical reagents, heat and solvents, heat and chemical reagents, solvents and chemical reagents, or heat, solvents and chemical reagents. Paints and/or dyes may also be used. Transformation may be used to cut out shapes e.g., petals, leaves, etc., to trim them after cutting to prevent fraying, to shape them e.g., according to non-developable surfaces, to join them by welding, or to provide them with a different appearance.
