Abstract

The pin is for the reductin of a sub-capital femoral fracture, having two arms fixed together. The first arm is a tubular pin sectin inserted in the head and neck of the femur, and the second a plae or splint for fixing to the side of a diaphysis or femur body. The pin section has hollowed-out grooves (10) in its external surface, and its end has a screwed stem (14) engaging in the femur head. Thus the grooves prevent rotation of the head in relation to the neck, and at the same time the stem prevents lengthwise displacement of the head.
