Abstract

The applicator tool is for applying an electrical connector onto a flat multi-conductor cable. It comprises a frame having integral, spaced, upper and lower arms. A ram is mounted in the upper arm for vertical movement. An upper tool is mounted on the free lower end of the ram. Guide rails are mounted on the lower arm beneath the ram in cantilever fashion. A lower tooling assembly, including a sliding base, is mounted in the guide rails. A base plate assembly, fixed to the sliding base, includes a base plate, a cable guide, a cable clamp, a crimping insert and a connector guide.
