Abstract

Distributor for definite quantities of a liq. or pastry prod. such as yoghurt, cream, cheese etc., is partic. for the filling of recipients (I) formed continuously from a strip of thermoplastic material; mean are provided for maintaining a constant press. on the prod. as it leaves the appts. The reservoir contains the prod. to be distributed which passes along the feed-pipe to the chamber fitted without outlets. (I) are brought by a step-by-step conveyor to the filling position. The lower ends of the outlets are introduced into a (I) so as to avoid splashing; during filling the conveyor is stationary. The chamber is divided by a membrane and is connected to a source of air under press. The electric valve controlled by the timer, allows air to depress the membrane and close the upper ends of the outlets to stop the flow of the prod. A probe in the reservoir maintains the press by means of gas from the source so that the press, at the base of the reservoir and in the chamber remains substantially constant. Distributor is of simple construction without complex regulating means; it operates with great precision and provides a succession of unvarying quantities of the prod.
