Abstract

The measurer, although primarily for measuring the circumference of a cylindrical object, is also applicable to objects of different cross-section. The device has two connected arms, having grips at one end, and opposed bent parts at the other also joined to each other. A graduated cable is attached to one of the arms and is slidable in the other. The object to be measured can be passed through the opening produced by the bent ends of the arms, and applied to the cable. The cable is tensioned, and is pressed to the circumference of the object when the arms are closed, so that the cable etc., is moved, and the circumference is read directly at the end of one of the arms.
