Abstract

The reducing and centering sleeve (1) for a smooth bore sporting rifle or shot gun is made in three sections. The first section (4) nearest to the breech, is a plain tube into which the cartridge (15) fits, open at that end. The next section is of a smaller diameter, and is threaded internally (11). The final section (5) has a set of e.g. four slots (6) along it, extending almost to the second section, forming four resilient fingers (5). These fingers are curved, being largest at the centre, and form four equal longitudinal sections. Their length is between a quarter and a half of the sleeve lengths.
