Abstract

Wiring method using pre-formed cable forms the wire ends of which can very simply be connected to connecting boxes at the appropriate points. The connecting boxes (4) are set up in a row on a form-board (3), each having a row of channels (6) to take a connector (8) fitted to strips (10, 12) which may be fed from a reel in production. Each connector has a section (20) with a spring slot to take a mating contact such as a circuit board edge and a U-shaped wire clamp (22). In the production process the connectors (8) are inserted in successive channels (6), the connecting isthmus (28) between the connector and its supporting and feeding strip is broken, and the appropriate wire end of the cable form is clamped in the U section (22) so that with the connector fully inserted it rests in a groove (30) in the support.
