Abstract

Plastic containers are moulded from a continuous plastic sheet which is heated and advanced over a mould into which it is pressed by a piston to form the container. A label which is cut from a continuous sheet is fed into the mould on one or two sides, and the mould is rotated by e.g. a drive to apply the label(s) to the surface of the moulded container. Labels are automatically attached to the sides of containers as they are moulded, thereby reducing prodn. costs.
