Abstract

Pneumatic radial tyre has a single ply of cords comprising reinforcing cords alternating with filler cords. The reinforcing cords have dia. 0.5-2 mm and a resistance to rupture 50-300 Kgm. The filler cords have dia. of 0.5-1mm and a resistance to rupture of 10-100 Kgm. The distance between adjacent cords doesn't exceed 1mm to prevent splitting of the tyre casing during formation and bubbling of the tyre casing when the tyre is inflated. The reinforcing cords are maintained uniformly spaced in the tyre casing at the correct distance apart, to provide optimum reinforcement without causing damage to the tyre or reinforcing cords during production of the tyre.
