Abstract

The hand-tool is for removing printed circuit cards (11) from a support chassis (12-14) and has two cranked "pick-up" arms (4, 5) which are simultaneously operated by a hand-trigger (2). The arms traverse parallel interspaced holes in the trigger and are each pinned (19, 20) both to the trigger (2) and a fixed lever arm (21, 22) at the rear. Trigger (2) retraction causes the arms (4, 5) to pivot and retract, thus, gripping and withdrawing the card (11). The tool has a hollow handle (1) of rectangular section, with the trigger (2) set projecting from a window in major handle face. The movement of the trigger is controlled by parallel dowels (16) traversing trigger holes, with coil spring (26) recoil, and trigger shoulders (18) limiting travel. Two struts (15) extending from opposite ends of the handle stabilise the tool on the printed circuit support chassis.
