Abstract

A radially adjustable chuck jaw assembly has a top jaw (28) reciprocally slidable longitudinally of a jaw base (26), means for adjusting the top jaw on the jaw base and radially of the chuck comprising a key (50) carried by and movable bodily with but independently transversely reciprocally movable relative to the top jaw (28), the jaw base and the key having interengaging rack teeth (58) disposed with the individual teeth extending obliquely with respect to the direction of longitudinal movement and in acute angular relation to the direction of transverse movement of the key and means for holding the top jaw solidly in a selected longitudinally adjusted position on the jaw base. <IMAGE>
