Abstract

The uniformly undulating panels are for use in forming the bottle compartments in a bottle crate. The peaks and troughs of the undulations are provided with fasteners, and the panels are fastened together with alternate panels (10, 11) reversed. This arrangement optimises the available plan area for bottle storage, with rows of compartments spaced at half the interval required for square compartments. When not in use the panels fit together to take up minimum storage space. The fasteners may be of a spigot and socket, mortice and tenon or dovetailed demountable type. Typical panels have sinusoidal circular corrugations, or undulations of trapezoidal form derived from a right hexagon.
