Abstract

A free-running diode is connected in antiparallel with the bridge circuit. A communicating series oscillating circuit is connected to each phase, and alternately connected through controlled commutation diodes to each potential of the variable d.c. voltage. Their capacitors are charged to a specified voltage after each commutation process through a controllable charge topping circuit. Commutation diodes (n14-n16) allocated to one bridge half are connected through a common diode (n41) of the same polarity to one terminal of the variable d.c. voltage (N2). Junction point (VPe of the commutation diodes (n14-n16) is connected through a controllable charge topping diode (n40) to a constant d.c. potential (N1).
