Abstract

The eyelet consists of two parts, a crescent shaped portion (1) with a U-shaped cross section and a stiffening plate (3). The crescent has an angle of a out 180 and is placed inside the loop (6) of the sling. After hooking on the support (5), the stiffening plate (3) is welded in place. The plate may be circular in shape, with a cut out (4) to clear the hook (5) and it fits inside the inner surface of the eyelet and in a plane parallel to, but midway between the flanges (1b) of the eyelet. Stiffening and positioning functions are thus performed by the disc.
