Abstract

Each conductor carries the same current and generates in the magnetic ring an equal magnetic flux which is of opposite polarity, so that the total flux is zero. An output winding is provided on the ring, connected to an output switching circuit responding to an output signal. It signals imbalance of currents flowing in the conductors. There may be two conductors or a larger even number of conductors. There may be six conductors in a hexagonal arrangement around an inert central core.
