Abstract

In a gas cleaning unit, multiple rows of impingement strips lie across the gas stream, and are angled to it, with the angles alternating in successive rows to give continual change in direction of the gas flow. The rows are positioned so that the leading edge of the strips in a row lies between the trailing edges of the strips in the preceding row, the exact position being adjustable. Used for the removal of liquid droplets or solid particles from gas stream. Higher collecting efficiency than conventional designs, esp. for small drops or particles.
