Abstract

The portal frame is made from tubing and is used for gymnasium equipment or a child's swing. It comprises a horizontal overhead bar (1), the ends (2) square in section. The side legs (4) are flattened (6) at the top and bent at an angle to provide fixing surfaces. These are attached to the square ends by bolts (13) through holes (14), provided with nuts and washers. A similar leg (5,7) is each end, extending outwards in the same plane as the horizontal bar. A clip (8) and end plate (15) is attached (10) to this leg and fits inside the square end, being held by the side bolts.
