Abstract

The electrical equipment is intended to be used in the treatment of uscular disorders. The equipment is particularly applicable to exercising muscles which as a result of nerve damage are not being used normally and as a consequence may become atrophied. Both stimulation and exercising sources are based on a common oscillator, the output of which may be rectified to provide pulses of a single polarity. The apparatus is portable and includes control of impulse frequency and level. Control of function is via a four pole three position switch controlling the operation of a basic 20KHz Hartley oscillator (11) using a single NPN transistor.
