Abstract

An electrical edge connector is intended for use in enclosure housing PCBs, the design is intended to simplify fitting of the connector and to allow easy removal for repair. The connector is in two basic parts. One part (3) carries the male or female contacts and the second part (13) forms the shell or housing allowing it to be mounted through a rectangular cut-out on a chassis surface. The shell is flexible and has two wings or catches on one surface which trap the connector within the slot of the mounting surface. The contact bearing block is located within the shell by a pin mounted at each end of the shell mating within holes in the contact block.
