Abstract

The magneto-hydrodynamic generator has a cathode assembly supplied with a plasma via a channel and connected to the anode assembly via a load circuit. A magnetic field is generated across the plasma supply channel. The anode assembly has a collector connected to the load circuit and a through connection to the plasma channel. An emitter adjoins the collector. A second channel introduces an ionised gas between the collector and emitter. The collector is maintained at a positive potential w.r.t. the emitter.
