Abstract

The hub for a bicycle wheel has spoke mountings (4) to house the head of a spoke (6) coming from opposite directions. In the mounting are two passages, side by side and at equal distances from the hub centre. The wire spokes (2) have an enlarged head (6) to press in a recess in the mounting. It has long passages for increase friction of the spoke and thus limits any possible spoke movement. The clearance can be adjustable and eliminates the risk of breakage. The hub can be made of a single piece of solid light metal.
