Abstract

Bearing is intended for an axially reciprocating rotating valve-spindle (1), particularly for a rotating inlet or exhaust valve of a combustion engine. An axial conical bearing is used whose bearing surfaces are inclined at an acute angle relative to the centre line (3) of the spindle. The outer bearing race (9) may be contained in a narrow collar (11) on the spring disc (4). The inner bearing race (8) may have a flange (12) extending radially outwards over the bearing surfaces to overlap the collar (11). The spring disc may have a flange (14) extending radially inwards below the outer bearing race (9).
