Abstract

The discharge path has forward and reverse current rails connecting a load and a supply source with two electrodes, between which is provided a control electrode. The latter is coupled to one pole of the tripping pulse channell. The main and the control electrodes (4, 5, 8) are mounted on one side of the dielectric element (7), whose thickness is smaller than the distance between the two main electrode (4, 5). The opposite side of the dielectric electric element is coated with a current conducting film (9) on a section, corresponding to the distance between the main electrode. The conductive film is connected at least to one main electrode and to the other pole of the tripping pulse channel (10). On tripping pulse application to the control electrode (8) a multi-channel discharge takes place on the dielectric element surface.
