Abstract

An envelope designed for standardisation, mechanical sorting and automatic scanning systems, is printed with spaces for the address, the postal code and the distributing post office. A space marked for the address is thus of a size which must not be exceeded when the address is written in. It includes a set of three dotted lines which indicate the size of characters which should be used. Another space for the postal code is divided up into squares so that characters of the required size can be used suitable for scanning. Another line is for an entry by the post office.
