Abstract

The in situ examination checks the operation of a filling or inlet limiter for a liquid reservoir. The limiter detects a lower level N1 and a higher level N2 of liquid inside the reservoir. The supply to the reservoir is then controlled as a function of those two levels. The limiter (8) is placed in a vessel (1) of small dimensions w.r.t. the reservoir. The vessell may be connected to the reservoir. Filling conditions are reproduced in the vessel by introducing a sufficient quantity of liquid to bring the liquid level in the vessel successively to the levels N1 and N2. The limiter is checked out at each level.
