Abstract

The system transports items between a number of positions at a despatch station, then to a reception station and between a number of stations at the latter. In the process the items are subjected to a number of operations by pneumatic or hydraulic mechanisms, such as securing in a grip, turning through 180 deg., uncorking, recorking, draining, cleaning, filling and release by the grip. Transport is by a truck (1) travelling along guides (4, 5) under the action of a pneumatic or hydraulic device. All the operations are performed while the truck is stopped at two or more predetermined positions. At each of them the truck drive and those to the various operating mechanisms are performed to a set sequence under the control of a single central pneumatic or hydraulic distributor.
