Abstract

A covering for floors, walls or ceilings, based on a vegetable or synthetic granuler material, and particularly on granular cork, is relief printed by means of heat, forming a suitable pattern. A metal plate is used, such as a 25mm thick bronze plate, meaning 280mm x 280mm. The plate used incorporates a heating element giving a temperature between 290 deg. and 320 deg. C, preferably 305 deg. C., and a force between 1000 kig. and 1600 kg, pref. 1500 kg. is applied. The printing face of the plate carries a pattern of ridges which form the corresponding decorative pattern on the cladding material.
