Abstract

The silo discharge cone is fitted with a flange from which hangs the flange plate and which supports the lip seal. This seal prevents leakage of the contents of the silo when the valve is closed. The flange plate is extended on one side of the silo to carry a vertical spindle located by a spring and carrying an operating lever. The other end of the spindle carries a damper plate. When the lever is lifted out of its gate, it may be rotated through an angle which will cause the plate to rotate through the same angle and allow the products in the silo to discharge.
