Abstract
The rear axle and suspension assembly uses a rigid triangle formed by the rigid axle (1) and two bars (2) which meet and are connected to the chassis by an elastic joint (4). The axle is sprung by coil springs at the outside and is located transversely by a Watt linkage (5, 6). The upper Watt link (5) pivots about a plate projecting upwards from the outside of the axle and also pivots about a plate hinged centrally to the chassis. The lower link (6) is hinged to the bottom of the centre plate and to a point directly on the outside of the axle. A U-shaped antiroll torsion bar (13) is supported by two chassis brackets (15) and is connected to the axle by vertical bars (16).
