Abstract

A container (1) for a cream or paste has a plate (3) covering its open top. The plate is a close sliding fit against the inner walls of the container and is displaceable downwards by pressure (10) exerted on top. The contents are extruded through an orifice (8) positioned centrally or to one side of the plate and through an orifice through a slide (6) moving in grooves, or about a pivot, on top of the plate. The slide is positioned to pass the contents or seal the top plate orifice to prevent contamination or oxidation.
