Abstract

A fire door has a supporting frame with additional heat-insulating material attached to the outside edges of the insulating panels on the frame. This material is held in place by fixings which are attached to the U-shaped cross pieces of the frame and gives increased fire-resistant properties, particularly around the edge of the door which is a particularly vulnerable area. The design can be readily adapted to double fire-doors.
